Three Republican candidates running for a vacant State Senate seat in St. Charles, MO recently squared off in a debate sponsored by the Missouri Times. Former State Representative and congressional candidate Bob Onder, M.D. (R-Lake St. Louis) was recently reported by the Missouri Times and Missouri Scout to be the front runner for the August 5th Republican primary against State Representative Chuck Gatschenberger (R-Lake St. Louis) and former State Representative Vicki Schneider (R-O’Fallon). The 2nd District of the Missouri State Senate represents part of St. Charles County and was previously held by Senator Scott Rupp (R-St. Charles). Rupp, who was prevented from running for re-election under term limits, resigned from his seat in the Missouri State Senate in April 2014 after being appointed by Governor Jeremiah Nixon to serve on the Public Service Commission (PSC).
This debate was hosted by the Gate Way Group, the advocacy and association management division of Pelopidas, LLC.
